What Exa Pack is

Exa Pack is a plugin published in the jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace repository on GitHub, which has about 2.8k stars. The repository describes itself as: “Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com.”

A plugin is a package that bundles skills, slash commands, subagents, hooks, and MCP connectors so they install together. Plugins are plain files with a manifest at .claude-plugin/plugin.json, and they work in both Claude Code and Claude Cowork.

Installing Exa Pack adds everything it ships in one step. Connectors inside a plugin still need to be connected separately, and hooks and subagents only run in Cowork and Claude Code, not in regular chat.

> 30 governed workflows for current Exa Search, Contents, Agent, Monitors, Websets, and enterprise operations.

This pack helps operators build Exa integrations without leaking credentials or retrieved content, preserving legacy search types, ignoring partial crawl failures, or orphaning asynchronous work. It is grounded in current first-party Exa documentation reviewed on 2026-09-12.

Installation

/plugin install exa-pack@claude-code-plugins-plus

What You Get

Each skill distinguishes repository inspection, implementation, live retrieval, paid research, privileged team changes, and destructive cleanup. The workflows require Bearer authentication for normal REST calls, explicit product selection, endpoint-specific budgets, per-URL Contents status handling, signed Monitor webhooks, content-free evidence, and lifecycle reconciliation.

New code uses current Search types rather than legacy neural terminology. HIPAA mode is treated as an enabled, request-scoped, cache-only Search or Contents contract, not a generic compliance claim.

Scale and architecture

Current Contract Highlights

  • Normal REST calls use Authorization: Bearer; administrative service keys and MCP authorization are separate boundaries.
  • Search types are auto, fast, instant, deep-lite, deep, and deep-reasoning; neural is legacy terminology.
  • Contents callers inspect per-URL statuses even when the outer request succeeds.
  • Agent runs, Monitors, Websets, and Batches have explicit asynchronous lifecycles.
  • Monitor webhook secrets are returned once and deliveries require raw-body HMAC verification.
  • Current price, limit, beta, compliance, and retention facts are verified before live work.

Before you install

  • Read the whole file first. Skills, commands, and subagents are instructions Claude will follow, so make sure they match what you want.
  • Check which tools, scripts, or MCP servers it uses. Local servers and scripts run with your permissions.
  • Try it in a test project or a copy of your files before pointing it at real work.
  • Pin the version you tested, and review changes before updating.
  • Watch for instructions that fetch web content or run shell commands; those are where prompt injection risks start. See our prompt injection guide.
